Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Safariwale (“we”, “us”, “our”), a proprietorship based in Thane, Maharashtra, operates safariwale.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using our website or booking a tour, you agree to this policy in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable rules.

7.1 Information We Collect

Information you give us: name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, nationality, travel dates, group size, and messages sent through website enquiry forms, email, or WhatsApp.

Booking information: government photo ID details (full name, ID type and number, age, gender) required by state forest departments for safari permits; passport and visa details for international tours (such as Kenya); dietary and medical notes you voluntarily share for in-field safety.

Payment information: transaction references, bank transfer UTR numbers, and billing details. Card and online payments are securely handled by certified payment gateways; we do not store credit or debit card numbers.

Automatically collected: IP address, device type, browser model, pages visited, and referral source through essential cookies and privacy-preserving analytics.

7.2 How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to safari enquiries and provide custom quotes.
  • To book forest department safari permits, gate access, accommodation, and road transfers.
  • To process payments, generate invoices, and meet GST and tax compliance requirements.
  • To send pre-departure briefings, gear recommendations, and park safety checklists.
  • To send promotional updates and tour departure schedules only with your consent (opt-out available anytime).
  • To maintain website performance and user experience.

7.3 Sharing Your Information

We share only what is strictly necessary to deliver your wildlife tour: government forest departments and permit booking portals, handpicked lodges and eco-resorts, registered vehicle operators, licensed local safari drivers and guides, international ground safari operators (for Kenya expeditions), and certified payment processors. We may also disclose records if ordered by law or law enforcement. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

7.4 Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the website operate seamlessly and basic analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand visitor traffic. You can configure cookie preferences through your web browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may impact certain interactive form features.

7.5 Booking Information Security

We safeguard your data through robust physical, technical, and administrative measures including SSL/TLS encryption across all site pages, restricted staff access to ID documents, and secure encrypted cloud repositories. Please avoid transmitting full bank or credit card details over unencrypted chat or email.

7.6 Data Retention

We retain your booking and identity records only as long as required to fulfill the safari tour and fulfill legal, tax, and GST reporting requirements (generally 8 years for accounting records), after which data is safely purged or anonymized.

7.7 Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to request access to your personal data, seek correction of inaccurate information, request erasure of records no longer required for regulatory compliance, withdraw consent, and nominate a representative. Email [email protected] and our grievance officer will respond within 30 days.

7.8 Children’s Data

We collect personal identification of minors exclusively from their parent or legal guardian for official forest department permit registration.
