PANTANAL WILDLIFE EXPEDITION
In search of the wild jaguar on the world's greatest wetland — five nights deep in the Pantanal with four full days of boat safaris.
Kingdom of the South American Jaguar
The Pantanal is an ecological paradise spanning over 42 million acres across Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay—the largest tropical wetland on Earth. With ten times the biodiversity density of the Amazon basin, the open waterways and river sandbanks provide unparalleled, unobstructed wildlife viewing.
Our expedition is centered around the prime jaguar corridors of Porto Jofre and the Cuiabá River basin. Based at the renowned Pantanal Cradle Inn (Pousada Berço Pantaneiro – Ninho do Jaguar), you will spend four full days on custom riverboats tracking wild jaguars hunting caimans along the riverbanks, playful families of Giant River Otters surfacing beside the boat, sunning capybaras, and a dazzling riot of birdlife including Hyacinth Macaws and Jabiru Storks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about traveling to Brazil's Pantanal.
Why is August the best time for jaguars in the Pantanal?
August is the height of the dry season in the Pantanal. As floodwaters recede into the main river channels, animals congregate along river margins. Jaguars spend their days resting on open sandbanks and actively hunting caimans and capybaras along the water's edge, giving photographers unparalleled daylight viewing.
What is life like on board during full-day boat safaris?
Our boats are equipped with comfortable swivel seats, sun canopies, and iceboxes stocked with water and juices. Having lunch served on board allows you to stay stationed near active wildlife areas through the middle of the day without returning to lodge until sunset.
How do international flights work from India?
Guests typically fly from Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore to São Paulo (GRU) via carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, or Ethiopian Airlines. From São Paulo, a short 2-hour domestic flight takes you to Cuiabá (CGB), where our expedition transfers commence.
Is Yellow Fever vaccination mandatory?
Yes, Brazil requires a valid International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever taken at least 10 days prior to arrival. We also recommend standard routine travel immunizations and carrying effective mosquito repellent.
