Scenic Drive to Godkhali & Afternoon Creek Safari
Morning pick-up in Kolkata in a dedicated Innova. Enjoy a scenic 3-hour journey through rural Bengal landscapes, fish ponds, and palm groves to Godkhali Jetty, the springboard to the mangrove archipelago.
Board our boat transfer across the river to the jungle resort. Check-in, freshen up, and savor a traditional Bengali lunch. In the afternoon, embark on our first creek safari as the afternoon tide shifts, watching for kingfishers, mudskippers, and spotted deer coming to the water's edge. Return to the resort for high tea, evening folk interaction or nature presentation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Deep Delta Safaris, Watchtowers & Anchoring Under Stars
Depart early morning for a full day of exploration deep in the delta. Freshly prepared hot breakfast is served onboard as mist lifts over the wide water channels.
Explore iconic forest watchtowers including Sajnekhali (with its mangrove interpretation centre) and Sudhanyakhali, where sweet-water ponds attract tigers, wild boars, and monitors. Lunch is served hot on the upper deck. In the evening, the boat docks at a safe, designated anchoring point inside the tidal network. Enjoy dinner on deck and fall asleep to the gentle sounds of water under the star-studded delta sky.
Sunrise Over Mangroves & Dobanki Canopy Walk
Wake up right on the water to an ethereal sunrise glowing over the mangrove canopy, hot tea in hand. With zero transit delays, we are already positioned in prime tiger tracking waters at dawn.
We navigate narrow tidal channels and visit the famous Dobanki Watchtower, walking along its 496-meter elevated canopy path enclosed in protective mesh that offers bird's-eye views of the deer herds and forest floor. After a full day of birding and predator scanning, we anchor for our second peaceful night onboard the boat.
Tidal Safari Cruise & Return to River Resort
Enjoy breakfast on the boat while cruising along secondary creeks during the morning low tide when mudflats are exposed and estuarine crocodiles emerge to warm themselves.
Arrive back at the riverfront resort by late morning. Unpack, relax, and savor lunch at the resort dining pavilion. In the afternoon, embark on an optional village walk to experience delta life, honey-gatherer folklore (Bonbibi legends), and local handicraft traditions. Relax with dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
Breakfast, Jetty Boat Transfer & Return to Kolkata
